What a grand location for a Wylie Ryan Kids 2Km Run - the Town of Sydenham - named after Canada's first Governor General! All you kids 11 and under are invited to duke it out.

The picturesque town park on clean, clear Sydenham Lake flanked by its two community schools, and football field is a perfect setting for the multi-sport event of which the Sydenham Lakeside Run is part.  The Sydenham Kids 2Km Run .

We encourage you to make the Wylie Ryan Sydenham 2Km Run, or the Lakeside 5Km & 10Km Run part of your 2009 event schedule. There is an distance for everyone, from 2 to 82! See you in Sydenham on July 5th, 2009!

There are no refunds for any reason - this includes event cancellation or event changes. Credit cards are accepted for online entries only, up to Sunday June 27th.  All entries received after Sunday June 27th are $10 (Cash Only), and must be made at a Race Kit Pick Up time and location.

Souvenir shirts are included with your entry (up to Sunday June 27th). Entries received after Sunday June 27th are not eligible for the souvenir shirt.

directions & parking
Sydenham is located North of Kingston. It can be reached by taking Regional Rd. 9 (Sydenham Rd.) (Exit 613) North from Highway 401 to Rutledge Rd. Turn left on Rutledge, which takes you right into the Town of Sydenham.

Parking is available at Sydenham High School, and Lougborough Public School at the corner of Rutledge Rd. and Wheatley St. as you enter Sydenham.

awards and prizes
All participants receive a souvenir shirt, a finisher's medal, refreshments, and a chance at lots of draw prizes. We do not provide awards for placing in the top 3 overall or in each age division, as we believe that winning is its own reward.

official performance certificate
We are pleased to offer each race finisher, the opportunity to download and print an official certificate of their event performance. That's right, after each event you will be able go online to the event web site, punch in your race number and obtain a certificate that highlights your race, finish time and place in the race.

We are also pleased to be able to offer a photo program for participants in the Wylie Ryan Sydenham 2Km Run.  Zoomphoto will be offering you classy photos commemorating your participation.  Just go to http://www.somersault.ca/results.htm the day after the event for your photo

souvenir shirt
A souvenir shirt is included in the entry fee, if you enter on or by June 27th. Those entering after Sunday June 27th are not eligible to purchase the souvenir shirt. You are not eligible for the souvenir shirt if you do not pick up your participant race kit.

refreshments
Enjoy some fruit, a bagel and a drink after the run.

championchip timing - by sportstats
We use ChampionChip Timing at all Somersault races. This timing system requires that all participants wear a ChampionChip Bracelet on their ankle (Anklet) during the race. This bracelet contains a computer chip that allows the kids to be timed. 

The kids are responsible for obtaining their ChampionChip Bracelet on race morning from the timing people at the Sportstats Tent near the Finish Line.  Do this at least 30 minutes before their race - you will need their race number to obtain the chip. 

The ChampionChip Bracelet must be returned immediately after the kids cross the finish line.  You are responsible for the bracelet cost if it is not returned - and it is expensive.

results (age of december 31, 2010)
The kids personal results will be posted very soon after they finish the race.  Please check the results as soon as you can, to be sure they are accurate.  If  there are discrepancies, go to the Sportstats Van near the Finish Line and provide them with the information you think is correct. 

Remember we use the participant's age at December 31, 2009 - not their race day age - for result purposes.

Results will be posted at http://www.somersault.ca/resultsrun.htm within 24 hours of the race and are available at RunnersWeb.com

volunteers
A parent or adult supervisor must accompany all participants.  One adult may accompany several participants. You may be asked to assist at the event.

The Wylie Ryan Sydenham 2Km Run is also a great opportunity for schools or clubs to raise some money by volunteering. It is a fun way to pick up a few hundred dollars. Email us at info@somersault.ca if your club/school/group would like us to make a donation in return for your providing 10 or more volunteers.
