The 2010 Somersault Junior Series is now a reality. Youth from 12 to 19 years of age have their own triathlon, duathlon, and run series in Ottawa, Eastern Ontario, & Western Quebec - the Somersault Junior Series. There are actually two Series, the Somersault Junior Run Series, the Somersault Junior Triathlon/Duathlon Series, and the Somersault Canoe & Kayak Triathlon Series .
Junior Age Categories
The Somersault Junior Series categories are 13 & under, 14-15, 16-17, and 18-19.
Race Distances
The distances offered to participants in these categories varies by age, and are age appropriate.
Triathlon & Duathlon Distances by Age Group
To be eligible for the Junior Champions Challenge,
Juniors 17 and under must choose Sprint or Super Sprint
18-19 must choose Super Sprint, Sprint, or Olympic
Run Event Distances by Age Group
To be eligible for the Junior Champions Challenge,
15 and under must choose 3Km and 5Km races
16 and 17 must choose 3Km, 5Km, or 8Km, and
18-19 must choose 3Km, 5Km, 8Km, or 10Km
Canoe & Kayak Triathlon Distances by Age Group
19 & under either Canoe or Kayk Triathlons
Event Schedule
The schedule of 2010 Junior Events can be found below. Most Junior events are held within Somersault adult events. However Junior participants will find the atmosphere at each Somersault Event a friendly one. You will find the participants, the volunteers, officials, and staff, very helpful and supportive.
